The course this term will focus on bioethics and on public health. It will cover legal and ethical issues in the physician/patient relationship, end of life care, organ transplantation, and reproductive medicine, before ending with a consideration of public health regulation.
Special Instructions: The class is open to all law or medical students. Graduate students may be admitted from other parts of the University by consent of the instructor. Substantial class attendance is required; in addition, the quality of class participation will play a small role in grading. Up to 15 students may write research papers in lieu of the final exam. Students interested in writing should enroll in Law 313-0-02. Students who do not receive a spot in section 02 may enroll in section 01.
